Derbyshire Youth Sailing

Welcome to DYS event at Carsington.

At the time of planning, we hope that by 11th September, specific COVID restrictions will no longer be in place. However, this webpage will be updated when the applicable Government and RYA rules are confirmed – although we ask all participants to be mindful of sensible precautions.

Please register for this event using the DYS website.

In the case of any additional COVID restrictions or rules, please check back on this webpage immediately prior to attending the event to confirm any changes.

1. Barrier and gates will be unlocked from 9:00am – on site parking is normally available at the sailing club and instructions shall be given on entry as to where to park. Note that the Sailing Club has its own entry turn off the main road not to be confused with the separate Carsington Water Visitor Centre entrance and car park next door. Additional parking to the Sailing Club is also available at the adjacent Visitor Centre, noting that a camera monitored payment system operates there.

2. Registration will be available at the clubhouse/outside. Please bring CASH for payment of registration fees.

3. Changing rooms and toilets will be open.

4. The galley in the clubhouse will normally be open selling hot and cold drinks and a small range of sandwiches, etc.  (Cash or card) Note however that at the time of writing, the Galley availability is subject to change. A full range of Cafe facilities are available at the Visitor Centre approx. 5 – 10 minutes flat walk away.

5. A briefing for competitors will be held outside the club house at 10.30am.

6. Racing will commence at 11am. We plan to run one race before lunch and two races back-to-back in the afternoon session, which will be confirmed at the briefing.
