*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ***

The road between Buxton and Whaley Bridge (A5004 – Long Hill) will be closed on the day of the event. Visitors arriving from the South via Buxton will be able to access the club normally. Visitors coming from Whaley Bridge will be unable to access the club via that road. There are other minor roads to the west of the club that will be open however they are very narrow and could be problematic if towing a boat. The alternate route would be to take the A6 from Whaley Bridge to Buxton and then leave Buxton northbound on the A5004.

Details of the event are as below:

1. Barrier and gates will be unlocked from 8:45am – please proceed to the sailing club for parking/unloading boats (close barrier and gate behind you please)
2. Registration will be available at the clubhouse/outside. Please bring CASH for payment of registration fees.
3. Changing rooms and toilets will be open
4. The galley in the clubhouse will be open selling bacon/egg butties in the morning and hot and cold drinks and snacks through the day (e.g. crisps, chocolate bars, pot noodles) (CASH)
5. A briefing for competitors will be held outside the club house at 10.30am.
6. Racing will commence at 11am. We plan to run one race before lunch and two races back-to-back in the afternoon session, which will be confirmed at the briefing.
7. Please contact the DYS representative if you wish to hire a boat – preferably a week before so we can sort out boats appropriately!
